“I support Governor Charlie Crist because he is a decent man with a solid record of working for and representing the people of the State of Florida. I have followed the Governor’s career since he was Secretary of Education and he has shown nothing but a record of integrity and conservative principles. When the toughest decisions have had to be made, he did not waiver but, rather, took the actions that would benefit and protect the people of this State.”

Charlie Crist on National Defense
As Commander and Chief of the Florida National Guard, Charlie Crist understands the sacrifice and commitment of the men and women in uniform.
The men and women of the Florida Guard have made the commitment to serve their fellow Floridians in times of need. Our state has suffered from hurricanes, tropical storms, flooding and tornados and, despite these natural disasters, the Florida Guard has stepped up time and again to answer the call.
The men and women in uniform are committed to protecting and defending our freedom. Freedom is not easy. Over the 233 years of this nation, blood has been shed to defend our freedoms both home and abroad. Today, our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines are in distant lands fighting for the freedoms that make this country great.
As Florida’s next U.S. Senator, Charlie Crist will support our military men and women as they provide for a strong national defense. A strong national defense is only as good as the resources given to make it successful. Charlie Crist will fight to give the men and women in uniform the proper resources, equipment and training needed to defend our nation both home and abroad.
As Governor, Charlie Crist has worked tirelessly with the U.S. military in Florida on a host of issues ranging from economic development, education for military children and continued military presence in Florida. Home to 21 military installations, Florida is proud of its long standing relationship with the United States military. Charlie Crist will do everything in his power to make sure the U.S. military remains an integral part of the Florida landscape.
