Next, you’ll be taken to the Supervisor of Elections to complete your official request.
Florida law changed in 2023. Vote-by-mail requests no longer renew automatically. They expired at the end of the last election cycle.
That means if you voted by mail in 2022 or 2024, or any year before that, you are no longer signed up. No ballot will arrive in your mailbox unless you request one.
Signing up takes about two minutes. You’ll need your date of birth and the address on your voter registration. The Supervisor of Elections will mail your ballot starting July 19.
Q: I voted by mail last year. Am I really not signed up anymore? A: Correct. Florida law changed and all standing requests expired. You have to sign up again to get a ballot for the August 18 primary.
Q: How do I know if my request went through? A: After you submit at the Supervisor of Elections site, you’ll get a confirmation. You can also check your status anytime at Pinellas SOE.
Q: What if I’m not registered to vote? A: You can check your registration at SOE registration. The deadline to register for the August 18 primary is July 20.
Q: When is the deadline to request my ballot? A: August 6, 2026 at 5pm. After that, you’ll have to vote in person on August 18.
Q: When does my ballot need to be returned? A: Your completed ballot must be received by the Supervisor of Elections by 7pm on August 18. Mail it back by August 11 at the latest, or use a drop box.
Q: Where are the drop boxes in St. Pete? A: Supervisor of Elections Office, 501 1st Ave N, St Pete, 7:00am – 7:00pm and the JW Cate Recreation Center, 5801 22nd Ave N, St Pete, 7:00am – 7:00pm
